The Muppets movie

Sorry it's been a while since our last post, I just finished my first year of university so understandably I've been on a bit of a mad one. But now we're back and to reign it in we have an awesome new trailer for the upcoming Muppets movie starring Jason Segel of How I met you mother fame and The Fighter's Amy Adams, not to mention a ton of cameos and of course all the ruddy Muppets you could hope for. By the looks of things this film is everything a Muppet fan could hope for, and so as a big muppet lover I am psyched.

Inbetweeners Trailer

We've now got our first glimpse at the upcoming Inbetweeners movie, it's only a teaser trailer and there isn't much to it. I've not been on a "lads" holiday myself but plenty of my mates have (and i'm an avid Sun, sex and suspicious parents fan), and it seems to be an honest interpretation of Malia's strip. I'm sure the film will do very well and won't disappoint inbetweeners fans, I loved series 1, but after that I felt the quality and humour just didn't match up, but hopefully this will be better.

The Hangover 2 Review

Last week I took a trip down to my local cinema to check out X-Men First Class with my friends, unfortunately it was after a big night out and my friend fainted in the car park so we didn't make it. Hangover 2 was the next best option, or so I thought. When I saw the first Hangover film in cinemas I laughed, alot, which is strange for me because I'm not a big public laugher. Hangover 2 didn't have me laughing, i cracked a smile once or twice but that was about it. The way I see it, this hangover sequel could have gone one of three ways; 1)The lads take another trip to Vegas, perhaps to see Stu's stripper wife, which to another wild one 2)A different bachelor party takes a trip to vegas, maybe one or two returning characters but mostly a new cast or 3)Recovering from a hangover in a different country. All solid options, if you change it up a little bit, but the exact same story? Why did they feel the need to lose another friend? Why not lose something else? A wedding ring? Plane tickets home? but another person, come on. That was a key issue for me, but it wasnt the only similarity, baby replaced by monkey ("hey guys look a baby masturbating", "Hey guys look a monkey giving head"), more gangster negotiaion, they even thought they had found their guy only to discover its not actually him, it was like paint by numbers.
Zach Galifianakis's Alan was the shining star in the first one but in this he came across less child like and more seriously disturbed individual, which leads me to think that maybe the wolfpack exists only in Alan's mind. The film also suffered from the worst cameo in history when Mike Tyson sings his heart out. This film seriously disappointed me and lacked the originality of the first film. That being said Bangkok was a great setting, but they didn't use it to their full advantage. I've heard talks of Amsterdam being the setting of the third film which is great I just prey that they adapt the story a little, I like the idea of them all waking up seperate and following them trying to find each other, but maybe that's just me.

Oh Dear Jelly Fish

This is a video of a lake in Palau containing roughly 13 million jellyfish, they may have no sting but it still creeps me out:

Trailer time

Its trailer time again folks and this week we have some real bangers for you, so enjoy!

Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Ignoring the hideous attempt by Tim Burton and Mark Wahlberg, the planet of the apes series is one of my favourite and most watched series of films (Scream and nightmare on elm st are probably the other two), and now we get the story of how it all began! Ok, so admittedly we have had this story before  in Conquest of the planet of the apes, where we see ceaser, the son of Cornelius and Zira start an uprising which leads to them becoming the dominant species. This time around the origin story is different with James Franco making a drug that results in super intelligent monkeys, and voila planet of the apes. I really hope its not bad, and at the moment it looks like it could be brilliant, whilst I loved the costumed apes of yesteryear the CGI does look fairly impressive and will allow for some really badass scenes. There are 2 trailers out for the film, this is the most reason and more impressive. Also I'm going to mention this again, its got James Franco in, its a planet of the apes film starring Franco, damn  thats awesome. Also if you look closely you may spot draco malfoy.

Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest
Directed by True Romance's Micheal Rapaport, this documentary takes us behind the scenes of one of Hip Hop's best and most influential band. It seems to focus on the band's break up and the deterioration of their friendships. The trailer makes this look hella energetic, and with interviews from the beastie boys, pete rock and Common, you know this film is going to be a must see for any fan of hip hop.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
I'm yet to see any of the "The Girl" trilogy, and nor have I read any of the books. I just never got round to it, but now I don't think I will, I think it makes sense to wait for the remake which by the looks of the trailer will be better. How can I say a remake is going to be an improvement without seeing the original you ask? It's directed by Fincher. David Fincher. Fight Club, Social Network, Se7en - this guy makes some of the best films and this one already looks brilliant. Trent Reznor is working with him again with what will no doubt be an amazing soundtrack - already sounding awesome from the song in the trailer, and it's got Daniel Craig in, who is also awesome. Enjoy
